Astana international airport has undergone major renovations in preparation for the large numbers of visitors expected for EXPO 2017, an international event taking place in the Kazakh capital. The 47,000 square metre passenger terminal – twice as big as the existing terminal – opened recently in preparation for an increase in traffic of up to 8.2 million passengers a year.
San.Co Costruzioni Tecnologiche supplied Isofire LZ58 soundproofed wooden fire doors for the airport lounge, Isofire LM58 wooden doors on stainless steel frames for the passenger hall and wooden doors on painted steel frames for technical premises.
The terminal was built to the latest standards with a new parking lot on two levels, a VIP area, six new airport ramps and an updated security system. The construction project cost more than 240 million dollars and required the services of about 1000 professionals.
