The product standard EN 16034 for fire rated and smoke tight doors and windows was approved after the UAP procedure on July 8th 2014
The transition period, when CE marking will be possible but not compulsory, will probably start on October 2015; its duration will be from 3 to 5 years
In the CE marking system the manufacturer will work under a level 1 AoC (Attestation of Conformity) system that means:
ITT (Initial Type Testing)
FPC (Factory Production Control)
periodic FPC by a notified body
The manufactures will have the opportunity to start CE marking before the end of the transition period, in order to open the whole european market
